“Obstinate rigor” — Leonardo da Vinci’s personal motto.

About Me

My work doesn't stop when the shift ends. A good part of my free time goes into trying out libraries and new frameworks, or building something of my own.

I'm a full-stack developer. Day to day I build with React and TypeScript, use Figma for mockups and Azure for infrastructure. On larger projects I work with spec-driven development, always with Claude Code.

Outside the code: I train Muay Thai — Tiger Thai is my home. I'm into racing sims; you can see me driving on Rivazza.

What I've Built

01 React · TypeScript · MapLibre · Redux Toolkit · MongoDB · Express.js

CombatAtlas

CombatAtlas is my take on discovering martial arts footage from around the world. Pick a country, discover the fighting style it's known for, then watch real fights that bring its combat culture to life.

Rivazza — real-time Assetto Corsa telemetry dashboard with gauges, lap times, and track map, project by Axel Barraza Assetto Corsa in-sim view — the racing sim Rivazza pulls live telemetry from
02 React · TypeScript · Node.js · UDP → WebSocket

Rivazza

Rivazza is a live telemetry tool for Assetto Corsa. Stream real-time car data as you drive and analyze every lap on gauges, lap times, and a 2D track map. Can't race? Watch a live demo of laps I drove.

Trash Talk Chess mid-game — the Stockfish-powered engine taunting the player Trash Talk Chess — play against a trash-talking Stockfish engine, project by Axel Barraza in development
03 React · TypeScript · Stockfish

Trash Talk Chess

Coming soon — a chess engine powered by Stockfish and AI that reads your Chess.com history and every move you make mid-match to roast your play with zero mercy.

Face Detector scanning an image — detected face highlighted with a bounding box Face Detector — real-time face detection web app, project by Axel Barraza
04 React.js 19 · TS · TensorFlow.js · In-browser ML

Face Detector

My first dive into machine learning: paste any image URL and a neural network spots every face right in your browser, drawing boxes with confidence scores. No uploads, no servers — the model runs fully on your device.

modules for a real estate investment platform in React — JWT authentication, global state with Redux, and business logic that leaves no room for errors.A change in API call strategy cut load times by 20%. No magic — just understanding what to request, when, and what to hold off on.

Full-Stack Developer

Rentplan — Sacramento, USA
Jan 2022 — 2025

Led the migration from React to Next.js — SSR, better SEO, and 30% more organic traffic. Sometimes the best technical decision is the one nobody notices because it just works.Built apps with Electron.js, modules with Python + MongoDB, and integrations with GA4/GTM. Also designed MongoDB schemas with Mongoose, because a bad data model always comes back to haunt you.

B.S. in Web Systems Development
